Meet Dr. Jensen

Dr. Jensen completed his undergraduate studies at Wichita State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in organismal biology in 1991.  In 1995, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Jensen then completed a hospital-based general practice residency at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton in California. During this year-long training program, special emphasis was placed on oral surgery, trauma, and anesthesia.  Upon completing this residency, Dr. Jensen served two years as staff dentist at the US Navy Dental Clinic and the US Navy Hospital Guantanamo Bay Cuba. 

After leaving the US Navy in 1998, Dr. Jensen returned to his hometown of Hutchinson, Kansas and began a private general dentistry practice.  During the last 21 years, he has maintained an interest in both sedation dentistry and oral surgery and has completed IV sedation training at the Medical College of Georgia in 2010.  He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Kansas Dental Association, the Central District Dental Society, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (Master level). 

When not caring for his patients, Dr. Jensen enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children.

Why doesn't my regular dentist perform my surgery?

Every dentist in Kansas is licensed to perform all types of dentistry.  Most dentists choose to limit their practices to certain phases of dentistry.  Your dentist has chosen to refer patients to another dentist for the surgical care that they require.
